Today at work my pride and joy was stolen by some thieving scum.
It was my mountain bike which cost me £2500 14 years ago.
The bike was outside lent outside against the main door which is not visible by any of the public.
The CCTV caught the ******* stealing it but his face was covered by his hoody.
The police are coming around tomorrow to view it , but in truth there's probably not much that they can do.
It is my only mode of transport to and from work and other places I need to get to as I don't drive.
Not going to be able to afford to replace it :cry3:
    Rant over :ThankYou:

I am so sorry Mowgley. That mode of transport is obviously vital to you and you must be feeling quite at a loss without it having owned it for such a long time.Did it have any ID marks should you see it around? A "Freecycle" replacement will in no way be as nice, but it will keep you mobile,
      Jenny,

      Oh no

If he knows a bike is kept there where its not visible then he'll be back to steal the replacement.

Think you should be ready with Mr Snuggles the baseball bat.

I've had a couple of bikes nicked over the years. One was also my pride and joy mountain bike that was nicked within a week of purchase, before I'd even finished paying for it.

The words I would use to describe the people that do that sort of thing can not be used in polite company. I hope they catch the thieving weasel that took your bike, and I hope he has a mild accident on his way into the cells.

Posted it all over Facebook anyway at least it has some use :snork:
I've been reading on local biking forum that when they spot a higher end bike they follow them home/work and then steal it.
Other cases at my local cycle route sherwood pines they dress in all the right gear and steal bikes when they make toilet/drinks breaks in the main car park.

I had my 1930's Humber nicked.

Didn't pay much for it, but the hours i'd put in restoring it, had the frame sandblasted, re painted it in British Racing Green, trying to find brake blocks that would fit was a nightmare, it had rod brakes, not cable.

I bet it was just thrown in a hedge somewhere after all that, can't see it having much of a re sale value

Oh, if its any consolation, I nearly wiped out one of the local smack'eads on the way home just now. I saw two of them come out of the halfway house while I was still about a hundred yards away. They got on bikes, and one stayed on the pavement but one swerved right onto the road without looking, right into my path. I just missed him, pulled over round the corner intending to have a word cos I was already in a bad mood even before that, but he turned round and rode off the other way.

I would wish for more than mild, but would probably be banned if I said what I really thought. Scum, just pure scum.

Toerags. I had 3 bikes nicked when I was younger and just gave up when the insurance company said they would cover any more. Don't think they're automatically covered by house insurance anymore either but might be worth checking.
Um, was it locked at all?
