Now, we are all aware that there is a black hole where socks go to frolic, and that the black hole is somehow connected to our washing machines (socks always go INTO the machine in pairs?).

Well, I am now wondering if there is a similar black hole (or perhaps an extension of the sock one?) which is connected to dishwashers and sinks.

What is FC prattling on about now, I hear you cry? Well, it is entirely possible that I have finally lost the plot, but surely I cannot be alone in this?

    Teaspoons.

    Missing ones to be exact.

Over the past few weeks, I have had a notion that our cutlery drawer has had a diminishing collection of teaspoons, and my notion was confirmed yesterday when Mrs C made mention that she too thought there had to be teaspoons missing.

Now, I have done a reccy today, just to ensure that none of the missing 'fleet' have made their way into other drawers or cupboards, and found nothing - so the question has to be where the hell are they?

Oddly enough, at work we regularly find ourselves having to buy teaspoons as they go missing, and up until now we have been blaming the canteen staff for taking them in the belief that they belong to the canteen - - - now, I don't think we can be too sure...:th scifD36:

So, what do we reckon ladies and gents? Have the wheels finally fallen off my trolley, or is this a more widespread problem?

My missing teaspoons usually turn up in the garden.

I know how it happens. If we get a prolonged dry spell in summer, the water butts soon run out. So when washing up after a meal, we empty the washing up water in the garden around any plants that look as if they are struggling. On odd occasions I've even come across forks and dessert spoons too. :rolleyespink:

We often suffer from 'single sock' syndrome too. That's my fault though. When a sock wears out, I throw it out and keep the other one if it's still ok.
Then, when another sock wears out I do the same and I've got a pair again. :hapydancsmil:

I did actually contemplate buying only black socks of the same type so that I could do that, but it never really works out like that.

I don't really bother about whether they match or not. A pair's a pair as far as I'm concerned.

Although I have to say Mrs Trunky does not always agree. :dunno:

Trunky, it's trendy to wear odd socks according to my seven year old grandson. :)

Now FC......could these walking spoons have found there way into your bin via yoghurt pots etc.? You know how it happens, walking into kitchen hands full, drop pot into bin while juggling other things, goodbye spoon/s!
