    I don't know Ziggy, it doesn't do them much good keep repotting and shifting them around. I've stripped off the lower leaves hoping that will encourage them to grow taller.

    After the pheasants took a liking to the taste of my cabbages we planted (7 weeks ago) a few of seedlings in the flower beds hidden by other plants.

    One of them is now doing OK :yess:

    Do you think I should put a stake in to support it? :scratch:

    No shiney,it dont need a stake.:WINK1::D

    For some reason mine have stopped growing upwards and are getting thick stems.
    Maybe I can enter the short but thick walking stick section instead.:D

    Hope its not the dreaded clubroot.

    Shiney, those are catching up nicely.

    I'm staking mine, not so much for support, mainly because the stems are going all wonky, so I'm trying to get them straight using canes.

    pete; I'm stripping off the lower leaves thinking that will encourage them to shoot up more. I don't know if thats the right thing to do.

          Is anybody using the leaves they remove from the cabbage stems please? I know they fed them to sheep on Jersey, but is there any reason not to eat them?
          My cabbages are nowhere near as big as John's but I had started being able to see two of them over the potatoes from the kitchen door...till I looked out this morning and saw nothing.
          Turns out that they are OK but both plants had decided to lie flat overnight?! We've finally had a fair old soaking with rain and it was a bit blustery overnight....I am just hoping that my comfrey juice hasn't proved a bit rich for them!!

            :heehee: Sorry Julie, but the mental picture of your cabbages all having a lay down after having the comfrey mix is hillarious..!!! :rolleyespink: :heehee:
            I have two of mine supported by canes as this wind is taking a bit of a toll on the stems being straight.. :loll:All this wind is rocking them allot & the stems are getting quite thick because of it too... :hapfeet: :D
