The problem I had with my Garden Room is that I wanted the maximum external dimensions that I could squeeze into the space, but thick walls really reduces the internal dimensions - which is what counts. With low walls, however, I have a lot of window ledges and can overwinter a plenty of smaller pots there. So I have recovered some internal space.

I understand the new building regulations specifies argon fill windows - so hopefully no one now makes the lower spec - but, as you say, how do you know?

Can a human actually survive in those conditions, sounds like a recipe for head aches and a feeling of lethargy.
We need some fresh air, that's why everyone looks sick these days.;)
Or perhaps you just open a window.

From what I hear the Argon dissipates within 5 years, so waste of time putting it in (unless you replace the windows in 5 years :hate-shocked:) I think better to design the building materials not to need something that won't be there for the life of the building.

It has mechanical ventilation - exhaust air goes through a heat exchanger pre-warming incoming air, so hardly any heat lost in the process (nor gained in Summer). Actually get more "fresh air" through a house using such a system than you would in a normal house (probably more even than an old draughty house!)
