While looking through last couple of years photos I found some interesting (in my view ;)) photos about what's going on above us: clouds, sunset, moon...

I don't do sunrise photography because our house and garden's orientation together with trees and other buildings means I don't see the sun until it is up already, which is a bit of a shame. But plenty of sunset photo opportunities. Here are a few taken late summer this year.

                Thanks everyone

It always surprises me how fast the Moon moves, plus any clouds drifting nearby meant that the shooting scene changes constantly. In this case, I didn't think I'd have enough time to fetch the tripod and set everything up, so I did it hand-held. Because I was zoomed in to the moon so much, any tiny movement including my breathing would cause the photo to be blurred or off centre. This one was the best among 10 or so pictures I took; though a bit off centre, it at least was sharp and showed up the details of the moon quite well.

I read last week there is someone who can free dive down to 100 metre by holding his breath for 2.5 minutes and on land he can hold his breath for over 6 minutes. I wonder if I should train myself to hold my breath for at least 1 minute? That would make taking some photos easier.

                Love them both

@Ellen, For the 3 pictures of the conjunction I was using a Panasonic DMC-FZ28 bridge camera.

For the "close up" picture of the moon, I used a Canon Sx50 bridge. At the time it was a new "toy" and I was trying out its 50x zoom capability. I think it passed the test, don't you?

I certainly do! They're great pics, and the cameras sound quite professional! It's something I'd love to get into but wouldn't know where to start :)

New moon taken last night. I found it quite interesting that if I keep on staring at the photo the complete shape of the moon starts to become more visible , either my eyes adjusting to the darkness or just an illusion?

The same happens if you stare at it for real as well, at least it does for me :)
