Where was YOU when you heard about JFK ??

Been talking about this on the news all day as it is the anniversary, do you remember where you were when you heard that he had been shot??

I've just realised that most of you would have been too young or not even born yet!!!! of course I was very young but I have a good memory!!!!

I was born just over a week later so I was snug as a bug and totally oblivious!

 

I was in North Africa, in 1971.

I was trying to buy a half dollar coin (used to collect coins) from an Arab in a Souk.

He wanted a lot of money for it as it was minted in the year he was shot. Up till then, I had no idea who he was.

 

I was sat on the garden wall outside tne house, 12 years old. Dr who the
Day after meant a lot more.

 

I think I was in school when I heard, albeit some years later seeing as I wasn't born when it happened.

Zig, I hope you've got the year wrong cos they said on the radio that it happened 50 years ago today. So either it wasn't 1971 when it happened, or I've slept in by a whole 8 years

 

I was at my sister's 5th birthday party. She was born on Nov 30th so maybe we had it a few days earlier that year - unless it's the funeral I'm remembering.

 

I didn't find out about it till then.

 

I was only 4 years old at the time, don't remember it.

Probably too busy aggravating the cat or trampling all over dad's vegetable patch.
