    Only one of mine is still growing, it only takes a stupid pigeon or a stray frisbee and it's game on. :dbgrtmb:

        Seem to have backed off the pumpkin, probably didn't like the hairy leaves, put a sheet of glass so they cant reach the cabbage anymore.

        They can only get their heads a few inches onto the plot, otherwise they get their heads stuck in the fence.

        Most edibles are out of reach Steve:dbgrtmb:

        I've been stripping off the side shoots, but am leaving a few on the top each time. I'm unsure if that's the right thing to do or not. I've jut tbeen outside and stripped some more off this morning, they certainly produce a lot of leaf, probably as much as my comfrey patch - it's all going in the compost - too much to eat now :dbgrtmb:

        To purposely avoid entering any more competitions on GC :D, I've spent more time looking after a couple of walking stick cabbages and a pumpkin than is good for me :help:

            Yeah - and I wouldn't have missed seeing the development and final birth of Zaphod Beeblebrox! It's been worth it for that alone for me!

            Hopefully we will have a challenge next year for a completed stick will we?

              Yes I agree, I understand we should cut them down in the spring then let them dry out over the summer. Plus its more innuendo opportunity, whats the best way to varnish my stalk, etc, etc, :yess:
