Nothing yet but it's early days, not much room for more plants as I have filled the garden up already, or have I ???

As far as Sandersonia goes, I got goodly sized tubers from Anglia Bulbs last year. Try not to over-water them as I did though![/quote]

@longk I got my Sandersonia from Anglia bulbs as well , what I should of explained is that I can never get the tuber to bulk up enough to flower the following year , they grew really well I used 50% sand in the mix (plus perlite) as like you have been caught out with over watering in the past.

Spruce

 

I'm starting a vegetable plot from scratch. There's a bit of the garden that's seems to have been the dumping ground for any building work done to the house and that's all being cleared, levelled and rotivated. Not sure exactly what I'll be planting but it will include spuds for definite, leeks and onions, carrots and green beans then winter veg like turnips and sprouts. I'll also be putting in some raspberry and gooseberry canes. I'm getting my very first greenhouse in a few weeks so will have tomatoes and cucumbers in there as well as bringing on my seedlings. I'm going to put strawberries in pots on the decking, where there's already a blueberry bush. I've never really grown much in the way of fruit and veg before so I'm really looking forward to giving it a go.

I'm clearing another bit of the garden down by the river that's become very overgrown and taking down a couple of old trees that are dead or damaged and turning that into a wildflower area.

We've put a wooden arch near the side gate so I'm looking for a variety of climbers so that there's colour and scent most of the year round.

I'm still browsing around for new flowers to try out for the beds. I think I'll concentrate on the front garden this year as it has mostly just been shoving excess plants in that I couldn't fit in the back garden. It needs a bit more planning and structure I think.

Apart from that, nothing much.

A greenhouse fab ! you will be able to grow so much more and great for overwintering , and rainy days !!!

It would appear that it's a common failing..........................

As much as I like Burncoose something is wrong there. The photo is clearly B.edulis (syn.hirtella) and the description matches B.edulis, but the page is for B.caldesii. I understand B.edulis to be the hardier, and am also led to believe that B.caldesii does poorly in pots.
Having grown Bomarea from seed, £13.50 seems a lot now!

 

Okay Longk you've got me going! I haven't had time to study your list yet. On the very first page of the above seller......Fox Lilies, a definite!

 

As I say, a very good seller. Good germination, fast delivery, and best of all 20 seeds (for example) is usually more like 25 or 30!

There's always the house!

I got some seeds for Swainsona (formerly Clianthus) formosa the other day. I grew this from seed many years ago when just one germinated from a whole packet. I've tried since but with zero germination every time. So this time I ordered fresh seed from Oz which actually looked more like Datura seed. After a days soak and two days in damp paper towel I now have ten germinated!

 

Everything garnered from the seed parcel from the past two rounds (except for those which blew away out of my blow away, never to be seen again some day *wibble* )

 

I'm trying corn and celery this year, as i haven't tried them as yet. I have to get my head around timings for growing new (to me) veggies. I usually decide to try new things too late and then they don't produce enough. I did try butternut squash last year and although late, managed to produce 3 very yummy squashes, which surprised me. I will aim to get them in earlier this year.
New Year resolution, to manage my little plot better!
