Was this really worthy of newsprint? the Shadow Transport Minister is blaming Thomas the Tank Engine stories for the lack of female train drivers!!!!!
It is too male dominated she said.
Do you think 5/7 year olds remember this later in life?
She must be desperate for attention.

So let me get this straight, the shadow transport minister, ie the person who will become transport minister if her party wins the next election, is taking lessons from Thomas the Tank Engine?

Great. Everybody vote Labour at the next election so we'll get our railways well and truly sorted. It will be brilliant. If we need to get anywhere quickly, we can rely on Gordon to pull the express. That is of course unless one of the other engines ignores what our @fat controller tells them and consequently blocks the line. For local journeys we can rely on Thomas, unless it snows of course, because he has been known to forget to put his snow plough on. But, at least the engines of Sodor still work when it snows, and in autumn when the leaves fall, and at least the engines try to do their best, even if their drivers rarely make an appearance. And it will be cheap too. Nobody ever seems to do any maintenance, and the whole operation is managed by just one man, our @fat controller.

Of course if the shadow transport minister ever decides to modernise, she will have to buy herself a different DVD box set.
