Found this fly this morning, but i can't find out what it is, can any one id please

Well they're not too far out

I,ve looked in all my books but can't see it, i think i'll have to get my glasses out

if you put it against a 1 pence piece is it bigger or smaller ?

To me it looks like it has just hatched out and hasnt had time to dry off and mature to the correct colour, where did you find it .

it's smaller

Found it in at the bathroom window

 

I bet it hatched in the house, and the cold killed it off or starved but it is weird looking ,

but I promise to find out whats its called I will get back to you .... thanks for the xtra photo

this is what I have had back from the Natural History Museum in London
"It's a fly that's died after attack by a parasitic fungus - hence the swollen white bands on its abdomen"

hopefully they will tell me what the insects name is next
