Thanks for all the good wishes.

I'd like to say I've had a relaxing day but far from it.

Our two grown up kids came over today to start decorating our hall/landing/stairs - this is a christmas present to Mrs JWK. Along with our live-in teenage son, the three of then cleaned it all down and got one coat of paint on. I was delegated the supervisor, sounds easy but it was a whirl of finding enough dust sheets, paint brushes and rollers to keep 3 of them going. Plus stopping them painting until they had masked off or put the dust sheets down.

In-between I popped to another town to collect an ebay purchase of a multi-folding ladder thingy, so we can access the stair-well space a bit safer.

In the afternoon I sold our old family car through ebay, the buyer came by train so I picked him up from the station and went over it all paperwork wise. We owned it for 15 years since new so it was kind of sad to see it go, but a seven seater is now too big for us and we wanted something newer and more economical.

Then a quick run to wickes for more paint.

Then washing out all the paint brushes/rollers, buckets and trays - funny how that doesn't seem to be their jobs.

Then cleaning off all the paint splashes from the carpet they had walked in.

I can't complain, it looks 100% better.

 

Cor an XK120, I've always wanted one - it's got my name on it too

I nearly bought one in the 70s, it was a basket case but had the reg "XK 140" matching it's model number. It came with a second even worse basket case XK. Instead for the same money a bought a Mini Cooper S which I kept for years. What a mistake, those XKs sell for a small fortune now
