Thanks Strongy - I have realised recently and by accident through walking the dog that i have an amazing nature reserve (in the making) on my doorstep and with the help of the more knowledgeable bird watchers, I have seen birds I have never seen before.

To live next to the coast and and a wetland reserve with so many raptors, I am truly blessed.

      Great pictures Armandii! :dbgrtmb:

Yes, the pictures are of a young blackbird, probably from a late clutch of young. :)

Thanks, Sheal.:snork: Perhaps the mild Winter has been helping the young birds, of any sort, to get through the hard times by providing more natural food.:dunno::snork:

I am trying to ID Shiney's birds but I don't know where he is, could be China, I'm sure he will let us know. The first ones look like a Bulbul of some kind and the other (although size isn't clear) could be a type of Crested Jay.

If he has mentioned where, I have missed it, I didn't think of South America as he has been there but there aren't many places he hasn't been.

Sanderlings this afternoon at Studland Bay, Poole harbour.
One is multi-ringed so I'll record it.

This fella is King of the Garden at the moment and spends a lot of time defending his territory and the Sultanas I put at the base of the main Bird Bath.:snork:

Went to Slimbridge again, but this time didn't see any curlews and no signs of water rail either. However we saw a few avocets for the 1st time here in Slimbridge.

Also saw a couple of cranes. They were from the 80 or so cranes that were released in the Somerset Levels over the last 2-3 years as part of the Great Crane Project. Somehow while they were flying around these 2 landed where they were born and raised.

Strictly speaking I shouldn't include this otter since it is not really wild, but .... tree climbing seemed pretty wild in its own way

I've got at least 2 pairs of Doves in the locality that come and feed off the Bird Feeders. I know they're a common sight but I do love the subtle pink, blues, greys in their feathers so I forgive them when they clean out the Feeders!!:heehee:
