I mentioned earlier WHAT NUCLEAR WASTE WAS it is cotton gloves and paper suits that had been worn whilst in the Nuclear power room LESS radiation than on your illuminated wrist watch that is stored usually under Granite in Scotland

The uranium rods are processed and returned

The trouble is no one, including you and I, want it stored "on our doorstep" or even in the next county to us no matter how allegedly low the waste is.:dunno::hate-shocked::heehee:

Indeed, and all the best Boffins have looked for a solution to that conundrum for a generation already, so they are unlikely to find a solution now I reckon :(

FC, those bulbs you show for the ceiling lights have little lugs on the ends of the two pins. The bulbs I have in the kitchen, bathroom, hall and corridor all have two very thin pins. Are those sort available as well? What is the total length of the ones you have in the bedrooms? My outside lights are ES type bulbs but I haven't yet found any low power ones that are short enough to fit in.

The ones I have are GU10 240v - yours sound like MR16's from your description.

The light fitting I have outside is similar to this one, and the LED bulb fits fine. I don't know the exact dimensions but I would guess that its approximately 4 or 5 cm taller than a conventional bulb, and about 2 cm narrower?

They also do adaptors to let your socket take a different bulb; I have a couple of the BC22 to ES27 adaptors, and they work well. Just bear in mind that the GU10 bulbs by their very nature are fairly directional, so in a fitting like mine they would be firing the light straight up which would reduce the usable light. The corn bulbs are more versatile and have a better spread of light - just avoid those 7w ones I have at the moment because they really are terrible.

I am more than happy to guide you through the maze a bit if it helps? Feel free to PM any time :)

The second link doesn't work @Scrungee, but the headline says it all. The current government has been proven to lie about money in another story today too.

                http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-25766564

Basically, they've been banging on about spending more on flood defences than any previous government, and some guy from Friends of the Earth has pulled them up on their own official figures, and shown that they've actually spent less.

Here is a quote from the BBC article posted above.

"With millions of homes and business at risk from flooding they need to increase the budget and tackle the causes of climate change, which will increase the likelihood of more flooding."

Hmmmm I wonder who told the BBC that, Wiesław Masłowski by any chance?? :snork:

                  Who's he then?

EDIT: Just looked him up. Seems he's the polar opposite to Micheal Fish.

He's a scientist who predicted in 06 the arctic would be ice free by 2013 the BBC wrote an apocalyptic story on the back of his research, I've tried to post the link to the story but it won't let me copy the link and I don't know why.

Would this be the same Arctic that was more frozen than scientists expected recently, resulting in their ship becoming ice bound?

I only posted one link (in post #127 above) - please quote the 'second' one that "doesn't work" and I'll correct it.

or perhaps you meant my "quote" that was initially displayed incorrectly because of the way this forum's software incorrectly displays things pasted in 'Rich Text Editor' mode, so users have to change input manually using BBC Code to get stuff to display properly? (you should be able to verify using Mod's ability to view Xenforo 'Edit History'.

EDIT: This forum's software keeps playing up. When I posted ages ago about having to keep re-hitting the post button, it was suggested the cause was something to do with my individual laptop, but other users have similar problems. I've also mentioned in the past about url tags getting included in wrong places.

I also have the same problem with trying to edit posts and uploading images,
