Growing our own food a necessity?

Hello People,
do you think in our lifetime growing food will become necessity, such as the 'Dig for Victory' used to be? If so what would be the reason this time?

 

I think for many people growing their own food is already necessary. It's only a matter of time before the government comes up with some sort of cabbage and tomato tax for anybody who dares go down this road
