I have several varieties of grasses in pots. Do i need to trim them and, if yes, when?

Wait until spring, most can be "combed" through with your fingers, that will remove any dead material, some will send up base shoots, those will need trimming down to the base.

Thank you Pamsdish. Well done on ciggies. Don't want to be negative, but I gave up for 4 years and restarted!

Just got back Saturday from a 10 day cruise, ended with sister in Malaga Hospital, she is was, (after double pneumonia) a heavy smoker, so I smoked as well, back on the patches and so far hope I caught it before I got re-addicted.
I am treating it as a hiccup and not counting it,,duty free after all....

Is anyone's ornamental grass sprouting yet? I planted one out back in late Feb, there hasn't been a frost but I thought it would be doing something by now :-/

Most of mine are but there are two that aren't. These were both plants that I've moved or planted in the last year or so. So I presume it's just the plant is trying to re-establish itself before putting on new growth.

Thanks Jane - my one is probably doing the same. I will be more patient (I seem to be jumping the gun too often :) )
