Hi, well, the Forget-me-not [Myosotis], one of my favourite plants, is a biennial so if you sow it this year it shouldn't flower this year. However, once it's flowered you won't have to seed it again! It's a prolific seeder and for me a great addition in the borders - well worth the wait!

Thank you Armandii....but so disapointed.I have an area at the back of my garden with a raised pond and gravel path surrounding it...I'm hoping to get a small summer house this spring and incidently am going to call it Myosotis. My intension was to surround it with Forget me nots.I did have lots in my garden that me and my lovely old furry 'son' Duggleby (golden retriever) sowed together but my old dad has been having a tidy up and pulled them out by accident..but hopefully some must have survived and may pop up somewhere...I lost my furry soul mate but i'l sow some fresh ones in his memory...i'l just have to be patient..:)

Don't be disappointed. It's quite likely that if you had Myosotis last year in the flowering state it would have seeded and you could get the tell-tale clumps of them popping up - that's if your Dad didn't get to them first!!
I'd sow the Myosotis for next year and along with it some annuals for this year. Losing a furry companion is a tragedy and breaks the heart. My old dog [Heidi] is buried down by the pond and I sit down there with a glass of wine and remember the good times with her. I've got two cats now, more by accident than design, but I know how losing a dog hurts and leaves a hole and most people say they'll never have another. But, if you'll forgive me for saying so, there's a dog out somewhere there that you deserve.

Actually i'm not recentley bereft even though it sure feels like it.My dog died a year ago and is taking some 'getting over'...But your absolutley right..we did what we vowed we'd never do...only gone and got 2 more golden puppies. We haven't replaced Duggy ..that would be impossible...My forget Me Not dog .

Thanks again X Now i'm searching through Lawn threads !!!! as you can imagine mine is looking rather bleak with these two herberts churning it up :heehee:

You're almost certain to find that some of the old forget me nots would have seeded and shall soon start popping up :thumb:. They aren't called forget me nots without reason. :)

        good luck with them. :D

I seem to yank out vast chunks every year, and try to pull them before they set seed, they are everywhere.

Agree. Though to be fair they are easy to pull, so I have a yank once in spring which seems to keep them well under control. Pretty though.

I can control Forget-me-nots easily but I do have to put more effort in controlling Celandines which spread like mad in my garden and by the pond.:dunno::snork:
