I was there for about 25 minutes last Thursday, but it was cold, grey and misty:

I also managed 5 minutes at Charmouth on my way back home from The South West. I hadn't planned to visit, but I was going to be an hour early for meeting somebody at Dorchester so called in both there and at West Bay for a wander around.

                  Cor !!

I noticed there was debris all over the pavement, looks like the sea got out of the harbour for a while.

I read in a copy of The Bridport News at the end of January (Mrs Scrungee has since used it to light a fire) that there's supposed to be dredging works around the harbour entrance next month (March) and the dredgings (hopefully nice golden sand) are going to be used to make up levels on the beach to replenish sand that has been washed away.

That'll be worth metal detecting for all the lost fishing weights then :)
