If you know someone handy with a soldering iron, they might be able to get them going for you? All you really need is a meter, a soldering iron, some solder and a bit of patience really. I'd be happy to guide you through if it helps?

If you get stuck, whack 'em in the post and I'll take a look at them for you - be a good excuse to get my finger out and find my meter.......

No movement in mine yet @Jenny namaste - but then they are begonia seeds, and they were only sown on Saturday so its early days yet. I gave them a wee mist yesterday to stop them drying out, and they will be due another misting tomorrow which will give me a good excuse to check for any wee sprouts

Did you plant a control sample that wasn't grown under the lights for comparison?

I must admit that I didn't with the begonias, simply because there was no way to isolate a single seed (hard enough to see one!), but I will do some sort of trial with stuff I plant later - even if its lettuce - just to see if the lights make a difference.

Well mines going great guns :)
The coleus are still quite small but look healthy and are bigger than I've managed before.
The canna rhizomes have all sprung back into life
Brugmansia cuttings have been moved into bedroom window, too tall now.
The chillis are growing there 2nd set of leaves.
4 trays of canna seeds are in at the moment.

My Monkey Puzzle is a good 10cm tall - I thought they were supposed to be incredibly slow from seed, but they seem to be enjoying the supplemental light so far :)

I've found 2 defects whilst growing some tomato varieties under lights, 'blotchiness' with lighter coloured areas on the leaves and the other to be a pronounced bluish tinge to their leaves. Others thrive and develop deep green leaves and stocky stems.

I had my face in the cupboard this evening, giving the trays a good misting, and when I shut the doors and returned to normal room lighting, everything had a really green tinge
