There is an International Registration Authority for Galanthus, it is
Royal General Bulbgrowers' Association in the Netherlands.

How many times have you tried H ? , I nearly done that with Daylilys and look at me now after I bought a duff one , with my snowdrops they do like a certain past of the garden as they are multiplying so much quicker

The lawn where I was brought up in Pembs has been covered in snowdrops every Spring for 60 years, probably much longer. My grandma used to pick and sell them commercially. We used to put them into little bunches about 1" diameter, with two ivy leaves each, and tie them with a little length of scrap wool. Then they would be packed in an old shoe box, all neat, top to tail, and sent off on the train from Haverfordwest to a florist in Cardiff.

I wonder how much money she could possibly have raised from that. Not sure when it stopped, late 60s/early 70s, probably.

Both my Snowdrops and Aconites have been up for ages but that big yellow thing which we occasionally see in the sky has been conspicuous by it's absence for some time. With it making a no doubt brief appearance today the Aconites, especially, decided to brave opening their flowers!Reading that some GC member have trouble growing Snowdrops I almost feel guilty as they grow in their 1000s everywhere here with absolutely no tender loving care from me. However there are plenty of things other member can grow and I can't so works out pretty fairly I suppose.

Rounds and swingabouts. I get jealous when I see the Dahlias which other folks can grow. They die of cold here long before they flower.

My snowdrops have been in bloom for a few weeks now. There are a couple of clumps on the bit I want to start digging up for the veggie plot. Is it ok to move them now? I've read conflicting reports on when's best to dig them up and replant.

digging up in clumps will be fine very little root disturbance plus side you will be replanting straight away which is the important thing , I say yes ...... move them now ...

Especially if your soil is still reasonably warm ie hasn't been subjected to hard frost.
