A new purchase last autumn Garrya Elliptica, potted on before planting as it was only small, doing well now though.

Looking good all, saw some Daffs and Snowdrops at Sherwood Forest on the weekend. No pics though!

Spring is upon us! (I swear it!)

The main stay of colour in the borders for me are the Snow Drops and Primroses although there are Crocus almost in flower and the Daffs are thrusting up through the soil.

Some of my Crocus, like Woo's, have self seeded in the lawn and seem to increase in number every year.

Battered by the gale force wind and squally showers, I'm surprised to see the crocuses (croci?) are standing up, and with occasional sunshine, opening up their cheery faces.

A couple of clematis from a neighbour's garden, they've been flowering since last October and still going strong. I'm tempted to help myself with a few seeds later when they are ready ;)

                              Thanks Jenny and Loli

There are a few winter flowering variety of clematis. They are evergreen and have a very long flowering season, so they cheer up the boring winter garden nicely. That's why I'm interested in having some in our garden, especially the C. cirrhosa Freckles.
