        Aloha everyone,

Mrs Shiney's talk went well :blue thumb:

I'm supposed to be at a meeting at 9 a.m. at the Town Hall in the town 7 miles away. They're supposed to be updating us on all the proposed building developments around the town. There's some very contentious planning applications for thirteen thousand houses in two areas.

The developers have, cleverly, applied to build them on sites just on the edge of town but outside the jurisdiction of the town council. They're planned to be in the areas of two other district councils and those councils are approving them as it brings their quotas to the required government levels - and they won't have to administer them! The town will have all the headaches but receive none of the council tax!

I suppose I'm going to have to put proper clothes on instead of wearing my tracksuit and rugby top . That'll be a shock to my system! :heehee: But I'll still wear my trainers :)

With a bit of luck I'll get out of the meeting fairly early, get some shopping done and be home before the bad weather hits.

        Have a great day

        Aloha!

Feeling ok this morning. Going to paint the dining table black today. Baby hamsters have opened their eyes now and are tottering round the cage looking for food.

                Morning everyone,

Its a cold and frosty morning here, currently -33, but it hasnt snowed the past few days, so that's fine with me.

Have some errands to do for Brad today, and am supposed to go down to Toronto, we'll see if the parts are ready.

We had Daniel for awhile last night, Natalie and Dan went to the gym and then to a movie, he's so good so we don't mind taking him whenever they want or need a break.

Off to get some more coffee......so enjoy your day everyone.

I've just been out in the garden to check because the dogs were barking at something but it was only one of the bins that had blown over:doh:i'm amazed and thankfull there hasn't been more damage here...i didn't expect it to be so bad over this way...the noise was deafening......

                      Aloha everyone,

Woo, I've looked in the cupboard and found a number of different smiles. I hope to pick the best one for today :blue thumb: :)

My lurgy is almost gone (just clinging on a little bit) and Mrs Shiney is gradually improving. We're just working on the programme for Open Day and will have some belly dancers to add to the entertainment.

Loli, I'm not sure there will be audience participation but you can bring your belly, anyway! :heehee:

Kaz, it was 1976 when I last did any tiling and grouting and I swore that I would never do any more. I kept my word! :lunapic 130165696578242 5: I tiled the bathroom and kitchen that time and, like an idiot, we picked 4" tiles for the bathroom and tiled it from floor to ceiling. 2,500 4" tiles, and nine months, later I finished the bathroom!!

A few years ago we had our bathroom completely rebuilt and chose some posh, and expensive, large tiles that are 24" x 12". We had a professional tiler do the job and the extra money we paid for the posh tiles was more than saved by the much less hours we had to pay for his labour because the tiles were so big. :blue thumb: He was so pleased with how it turned out (so were we) that he asked if he could take photos of the job to use in his advertising. :dbgrtmb:

It's calm and dry out there at the moment with intermittent rain forecast for today and heavy rain for tomorrow.

Keep well and have a great day

                      Aloha!

                                Aloha everyone,

Woo, an excellent sentiment, which I echo :wub2:

Loli, I'll add you into the programme. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The heavy rain has already hit the south west and is expected here by 10 a.m. Then gales tonight. Having said that, yesterday was our sunniest day of the year.

We had guests for lunch yesterday and also for today. :blue thumb:

My desk still looks as though a bomb has hit it but, so far this week, I've filled seven recycle bags with shredded paper :dancy:. Unfortunately, none of the shredded stuff was from my desk! I've only just started on working my way through over 30 box files of paperwork and throwing out old or no longer relevant stuff. With a bit of luck I'll have got through it by this time next year! :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

                                Aloha!
