Nothing wrong with a drop of Phosphoric acid, we used to mix it in with the glue at work, it makes it set faster.:)

This reminds me of when I was a young man about town. My philosophy for a long time was that sleep is unimportant, as there'll be plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead. I believed this right up until one night, exhausted but out clubbing anyway, I had a bit of a bad chest following a lurgy. I had to cough, so instinctively I put my hands in front of my mouth to prevent a rain of germs from showering everyone, coughed, felt something wet in my hands so had a look, expecting to see snot, and saw my hands covered in fresh blood. That's when I realised that my philosophy was not quite complete. My saying "I'll sleep when I'm dead" needed a bit tagging onto the end of it, and then I realised the complete saying was "I'll sleep when I'm dead, which will be much sooner than I'd like unless I rest for long enough for my body to do some basic maintenance pretty soon":)

Sorry, that's a bit of a digression, but I I just thought I'd chuck that out there:)

I've just tried a coffee with one of those stevia tablets in - and I can still taste the after taste of the sweetener; its sort of left my tongue dry........

I was fortunate to have a mom that did not buy us kids sodas. Ginger ale was for a troubled stomach only. So our beverages were, milk, water, juices, coffee, tea. My first taste of a coke was at 16 never liked it. I do not use sugar in coffee. Very little sugar is used in my ice tea in the summer. And don't eat sugar packed cereal. All the artifical sugars are not good for you.
One of them will give me a ragging headache. Other sugar I would eat is found in cakes and pies etc, or candy, which is minimally eaten.

I tried again with them in a cup of coffee - utterly awful. For something that is meant to be sweet, there is an awful bitter after-taste; I even dabbed one of the wee things on my tongue to see what the taste was from a very small amount - not so much with the sweet, and plenty bitter.

I wonder if its just that some people are more sensitive to the taste of these sort of things?

You do realise it has laxative properties don't you?

Best put some bog roll in the fridge before you start eating all that liquorice @Zigs

Licorice is brilliant stuff. It also helps boost your immune system by stimulating your liver and kidneys to flush out more filth, and your adrenal glands to get everything circulating better.

You can also overdose on it, so it would not be a good idea to eat your own body weight in it in one go, not least because you'd probably explode trying, but even if you didn't actually detonate, you'd not be very well at all.

I know, I boiled up 2 roots of it for a cough syrup, forgot about the laxative effects, had to run [IMG]
