    @HarryS
    Here's a thread for cucamelons! Having seen them mentioned a few times I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon and give them a whirl...

          They are lovely if a little strange. I grew them last year for the first time and they really grow...spreading like wildfire. I grew them in the polytunnel and just let them scramble along the soil, this year I hope to grow them up something, similar to growing cucumbers. One plant easily filled a space of around 8ft x 2ft and would have gone further unless I had not stepped in with the pruners.

          Steve...:)

                I liken their taste to cucumber with dressing already applied, ie cucumber with a lemony/tangy back note.

                Steve...:)

                  8ft x 2 ft !!! think we need to control these a tad . Will they climb if poles are provided Steve ?
                  Looks like there are a handful of us growing them this year - thanks for the thread Loofah

                  Umm umm sounds right up my street.. I was thinking of putting a couple on the end of the runner bean row as well as trying some on a net, what do you think?

                      Cucumber with a hint of lime. Just add gin!
                      Seeds were ordered this morning and dispatched this afternoon.
                      Apparently they're perennial and make a tuber similar to dhalias
