Earthquake in Bristol Channel today..

felt it here thought it was a lorry coming through the clients house, really unsettled the client too

 

yep i am not the only one, twitter and facebook went daft with comments around the same time,
i am not even thinking about what NEXT

 

Reminds me of when I felt the house shake and windows rattle when Buncefield Depot blew up. When I checked online they stored Petrol & Paraffin, I rushed out and filled every petrol & paraffin can I had, then, when the shops opened I stocked up on firelighters (made from paraffin).

Suggestions have been made that the great flood of 1607 in Somerset was caused by an earthquake induced tsunami. Probably not a good time for another one.

 

I've heard that too. Is that something to do with the actual definition of a tornado, so we get them technically speaking, but in real terms they're mostly not worthy of attention?

 

Dang, I was driving at that time, didn't feel anything.

 

Nowt to do with me, and at the same time we had a power cut

 

There is not much more can be thrown down the West, though I have heard Snowdonia is about to blow :-)

Volcano might dry it out a bit.

Not surprised the crust moved, although we get minor quakes every week, the millions of tonnes of water has got to have an effect on the region. Just glad it wasn't a full on 10 minute shake transverse fault

 

Zigs, you've done it again! You mentioned earthquakes last week somewhere here on GC. This is the second time now, the first time you mentioned them, a while back, there was a 7+ earthquake near where my daughter lives. Have you got some sort of built in Seismometer?

 

Or is Dim in residence at GCHQ?
