Maybe I've missed a vital news article, but it seems to me that in the Ukraine, some people decided to protest against their government. Fair enough, its nice that they have that right, as we do here.

But they chose to protest using violence. They've torn up public property, and physically attacked coppers, throwing rocks and petrol bombs. As the violence escalates, the coppers have used rubber bullets and a water cannon, against people behind a barricade who are throws stones and petrol bombs.

So what does the EU do? First, what should the EU do? Ukraine is not an EU member, its not an international crisis, its purely a domestic. The EU should do nothing. Instead its decided to impose sanctions including assets being frozen.

I wonder why the EU has decided to take action. Well, the Ukrainian government decided to talk more to Russia than the EU, which upset the people enough for them to resort to violence. What I don't get is why anyone in the EU should care. Do we want the Ukraine to be an EU member? They've already demonstrated political instability. I think they should be left to get on with it. Maybe start listening to them when they stop tearing up their own streets and killing each other.

Convince me its not about money grabbing?

For example, this article tells of the EU taking the UK government to court over pollution levels - - - presumably this will lead to some sort of fine or levy that is paid to the EU, in addition to the legal costs involved (and they will be huge as this is bound to rumble on for years - just look how much time and money has been wasted on whether someone called someone else a pleb!), and then there will be insufficient money to improve infrastructure in the UK which will see continued traffic congestion etc, and continued air pollution as a result.

This world is being ran by complete and utter buffoons

We have enough deadbeat counties in the EU already.
Do we really need anymore to prop up?
