I'm with cucamelon

    Good been to my local hardware shop today and ordered the first 12 bags of compost this year, delivering Saturday am, loads of other stuff needs starting off aswell, only done chilli`s and sweet peas yet :help:

    What is the proper nutrition for cucamelon? Would tomato fertilizer be okay?

    I must admit, I am tempted to give these a shot. Must have a look in the garden centre next week..............

          The only photo I have of these cucamelons are below.

          First shot shows the plant about a week or so after planting, just to the right of the leeks at the end of the tomatoes. This plant eventually filled all the space you can see and was crawling up the toms to around 3 ft - ground space was more than I thought and was around 10ft x 2ft.

          I'll be trying to grow them up strings to the roof of the polytunnel this year. This plant gave me about 50 fruits of which around 40 where good enough to eat (some where damaged)

            I think Tom fertiliser will be fine Tigerspots. Thats the only fertilser I use from August on my plants - seems to do the job

              My seed arrived today, but not sowing just yet.. I thought I would sow mine on March 1st if I can for the tunnel, then maybe a second sowing in April perhaps for outdoors.. I shall see how I get on.. :blue thumb:

                    Well, I am in - popped into the garden centre on the way to Sainsburys and bought a packet of seeds; slight problem, Mrs C & Little C wandered off and left me unsupervised, and I ended up with a few more packets of seeds

                    • Eucalyptus Lemon Bush
                    • Radish Rats Tails
                    • Dwarf Annual Hollyhock
                    • Geranium Border Supreme F2
                    • Aster Red Ribbon (free)
                    And a pack of three gravel trays for good measure. :biggrin:
