We don't have Pieris or Azaleas but have a couple of Camellias. We used to have a couple of rhodos and, originally, put acid soil in - but it was too much trouble. Our soil is Alkaline.

:oopss: The Pieris photo was in LongK's post - mea culpa! ... sorry about that. Normal service is just around the corner ...

I have Stocks (I kid you not, they've flowered right through from September cos I planted the seeds late in July), Violas, Daffodils, a dwarf Rhododendron and my first Rose has opened (although a bit water damaged).

I'll take pics when I get chance.

Next will be various varieties of Camellia and tulips/more daffs. I planted a load of bulbs in planters and in borders and they are all going great guns so am expecting a profusion of colours - cannot wait to see the fruits of my labour!

Osmanthus burkwoodii is also showing its little buds.

We've not really had a cold snap this winter yet - no doubt things will change once we do.

It was in a large pot when I moved here. Seems happy enough though.

Your lawns are looking good Shiney! Mine are still like marshland at the moment, very squelchy under foot.

                Thanks, Sheal :blue thumb:

The front lawn was fairly dry but the back one was muddy in places. There are now some large muddy patches where I turned the mower round at the end of a run (actually, a slow walk :heehee:).

Echium. Well, I didn't know what it was, think it came from the seed parcel, and I lost the label. My friend saw it lurking outside the greenhouse, 3 feet tall and starting to put out fresh leaves, and went into raptures, apparently they grow wild in the Scillies. If/ when it flowers, I will take pics:)

Well, it looks like Hellebores, Crocus, Snowdrops, Daffs [and now Celandines] are order of the day in most of our gardens. :hapydancsmil::snork:

went for a walk around town before and snapped these photos.. flowering stuff, including some Osteospermum, as well as a healthy looking Lampranthus and Carpobrotus (uh-oh!).. also a Marguerite daisy clump that sticks it's middle finger up RHS textbook and says "Ill grow here if I want to!" ps these were tkane on my poor ipod, so no DSLR quality today Im afraid

Oh and last of all, watch out.. you might think of this as a pretty little Berberis darwinnii that has nice orange flowers in Spring.. well recently it has become really quite invasive around town... the photo below is of a plant growing on the edge of a heathland.. there are numerous plants on the heathland too, and many around, as well as growing in the cracks in the pavement. It has the potential to become an invasive problem.

Stephen, assuming the last picture (post #103) is a Hebe it's suddenly occurred to me I've never seen a white one in bloom, it's always the common mauve.
