Yes it's a white Hebe, winter flowering, but there are so many different types of Hebe around that it's ridiculous, you may never see this one again, and I may never see one you see (if you get what I mean)

I've got a white flowering Hebe at the side of my house that I grew from a !liberated" cutting from a client's warehouse surrounds back in the 80's. It now sprawls from the raised border onto the driveway and always looks good in bloom. The only downside was that it seemed to take forever and a day to get to some size and even think about producing flowers.:snork: If you want a cutting, Sheal, I can send you some.:snork:

Thanks for the offer Armandii but may I decline. My neighbours 75ft hedge that separates our properties is more than enough even though it's not white. In fact I grew the hedge for him from cuttings a few years back and it's now coming up to 4ft tall. :)

@Sheal We have a variety of white Hebes, all summer flowering, that have no problem producing abundant flowers. Some grow quickly and need pruning every year (use my hedge cutter) and others are slow growers and only need tidying up.

This is a tall, fast growing one
          P1170513.JPG

          and it has lovely flowers
          P1170514.JPG

A short, fast growing one - you can see a large gap (towards the top right of the picture) where, last spring, we had to cut out a big chunk of dead plant and it has filled in quite well already.
          P1170515.JPG

This is a smaller and more sparse variety with variegated leaves
          P1170524.JPG

And a couple of small, slow growers
          P1170525.JPG

          P1170527.JPG

The last two have just a hint of colour in the flowers.

They're lovely Shiney! I like the flowers on the first one. Are any of them perfumed?

Hebes always find away to grow between cracks in pavement/walls etc, and they look pretty good like that!

After nearly 2 months in flower the snowdrops are fading away. With the disappearance of snowdrops petals I've started to notice some white crocuses:blue thumb:
