I'm looking for some light coloured planters, white or beige colour to plant some violas in, looking for approx 30cm x 26cm, something nice!! I've tried ebay, Crowders, Garden Superstore, Amazon, is there anywhere else??? it seems that everything is either black, terracotta or dark green :gaah: Ideas would be soooooo welcome!!

There are a pile of tyres abandoned near to where I walk Oz sometimes ... free for anyone who wants to pick them up and a lick of paint could be just what you are hankering after (.... ?.... )

    Oops!

Mistook "dark green" for a "green" idea. Sorry Val

Sankey make some great stone effect pots in various sizes and shapes that are available at some garden centres, they're not cheap but good quality :)

Gravel board it about £3 for 1.8metres so you could make your own and paint them. Or you could try covering them with tiles using a flexible adhesive and grout. You could do the same thing with those cheap 'n nasty placcy ones.

Have you seen the low honey planter in suede on the Crowders website? It's 37cm x 26cm so slightly bigger than you're looking for but it's a creamy beige colour (bought one last year). They had them in Asda this week for a tenner (also had the larger ones).

I bought one last year which I've just removed a mini rose from and I just happen to have some Violas looking for a home, so you've solved my problem for me! Thanks :blue thumb:

Alternatively if you can get hold of some terracotta pots in the right size, you could paint them. I've done it in the past and it's worked out well.

I always make attractive, painted timber surrounds for cheapo plastic window boxes, so the same could be done for planters, but plastic planters should be coated in acrylic paint to decorate.
