Just seen this on the news.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26378027

Apparently you can see them as far south as essex.

Does anyone happen to know a good 'space weather' site that might tell us if there's a good chance of seeing them over the weekend? Its no good looking from my house. Too much light pollution from the works.

So did I.. its going 'off on one'.. we should be able to see them here, but can't, probably much a do about nothing. I think to see them you really have to have very low light pollution.

I wish I'd spent more than the two minutes looking for them last night, someone from Woking (nearby) got some good photos of them.

Not seen them here, (have in the past) yet pal up in Stonehaven saw a great display yesterday and she doesn't live that far from me. We have absolutely no artificial lights so can get a great show, maybe I just didn't look out at the right time...annoying.

Do not worry, I was the same in Fife, pictures in the local paper with fantastic lights
I went out for ages and I did not glimpse a thing, just got freezing cold (no light problems just cloud) :-(

Still you can book a special Northern Lights flight from Edinburgh for £350 and MIGHT see them, or book a cruise for £980 and might see them too

I have seen them a few times courtesy of the Grey Funnel Line steaming company

So nobody has seen it, and the space weather sites report no significant activity, can we assume that the BBC got it wrong, and what actually happened was someone down south caught some photos of the sky flickering as a twoc burned on a local rec field?
