        I can understand were your coming from and all true with what you have said, and yes your guessed right:th scifD36: "honestly":th scifD36:.

        But being brought up from a early age and not encouraged to say how much something cost with others is " Crass" if asked how much or me telling the other person "bragging" or asking directly myself.

        I gave the same sort of answer last year on one of the "bird feeding threads" I know quite a lot of people that struggle to pay bills etc for what ever reason and you have me spending ££ on feeding the birds, gardening, hobbies etc ... I just find it easier not to say how much , as the reaction I have had on many occasions "you spent how much" .
        Gardeners on here will totally understand our/mine OCD at times and that "must have plant or machinery " we have been after for ages.

        Dont take this the wrong way it was never my intention to come over that way just wanted to explain a little, not that I have to but I wanted to if you get me :ccheers:

          By the time I am done, I reckon I will have spent around £200-£250 this year, with the bulk of that cost going on compost. However, I will hopefully get quite a lot of food from the garden in addition to hopefully having a nice display - plus, when I end up with loads more seedlings than I can use, they go to neighbours and friends, and hopefully bring a wee bit of enjoyment to them too.

          A friend of mine recently told me that he is paying £120 a month for his missus to go to the gym, so that makes my hobby look like an absolute bargain!

                That's now't - one girl that was in our company at the time said she was paying £220 a month for gym, pool and sauna! More money than sense

                          I think ive only spent £70 for this yrs growing on seed and compost up to now that is! but i would rather spend it the garden dept than living room because i know which gives me more pleasure to sit in :)
