Yup, me too. I've now got a small row of box taken from cuttings. It's so slow!! I was going to border lot with this but a new idea has to be had I think - I just don't have the patience

Patience isn't my strong point either:doh:....i've been waiting for what seems like an age for my Buxus to grow....i'm now thinking of Lonicera Pileata...faster growing and without the risk of blight:blue thumb:.I bet a pound to a pinch of chiffon after waiting all this time for the Buxus to grow it'll get struck down with blight:rolleyespink:...

Box is Low and Slow. if you want a Low hedge then ... you need Slow :) . Leylandii you'd be cutting every day to make it Low :heehee:

Planting bigger, more expensive plants, is your only way around that, but they tend to sit around and do nothing after planting - fine if they are Fully Formed, not so good if they are 75% grown.

£200 a metre will buy you a ready-to-enjoy hedge. Or, slightly cheaper, you could just carpet the whole garden with best quality Wilton or Axeminster!

                :)

Do you need some Hedging Loli?

I've not planted any this year - I think we are "done" for hedges :)

Bought a few more Limes-to-Pleach though ... might that be an idea for you perhaps?

Can't put them along your boundary (in an existing hedge for example)?
