Saw my first bats of the year tonight ...

... may not have been their first appearance (I really don't *know*) but, they were my first sighting of the year!

I love my bats

No photo's (too fast, too unexpected), but I have the photographic memory of them

Don't recall seeing them this early in previous years (April being my first) ? Maybe a result of the mild winter?

 

I've been on an evening 'bat walk' organised by the National Trust along Horner Water on Exmoor (staying at a campsite 10 mins walk away), using electronic bat detectors to give advance warning of incoming bats and it was great fun.

Yes, they are flying here too. I love sitting of an evening watching them. My little flying hamsters.

Great shots Jiffy! I have bats flying around my area but haven't seen or heard any yet this year. My other half has a phobia of them.
