Saw my first bats of the year tonight ...

    ... may not have been their first appearance (I really don't *know*) but, they were my first sighting of the year! :dancy:

    I love my bats :wub2:

    No photo's (too fast, too unexpected), but I have the photographic memory of them :heehee:

    Don't recall seeing them this early in previous years (April being my first) ? Maybe a result of the mild winter? :dunno:

      I've been on an evening 'bat walk' organised by the National Trust along Horner Water on Exmoor (staying at a campsite 10 mins walk away), using electronic bat detectors to give advance warning of incoming bats and it was great fun.

      Googling 'bat detector' just now drew my attention to how far things have moved on with android apps that work with bat detectors https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elekon.batlib&hl=en_GB

          Yes, they are flying here too. I love sitting of an evening watching them. My little flying hamsters. :)

              Great shots Jiffy! I have bats flying around my area but haven't seen or heard any yet this year. My other half has a phobia of them. :doh:
