    So far i had good luck in getting seedlings from E. Piniana but at the same time nothing with E. Candicans... Same conditions, fresh seeds :( one of my spanish friend said may be it was the wrong phase of moon... LOL. I should start including phases of moon in the list of control parameters while seed sowing...

      Last summer i had to dig mine up and move it because of the 2nd chicken coop,it was on its 2nd yr and the root ball was approx 1ftw x 1ftd kristen..drooped for a few days but was fine:)
      Not sure if the root ball gets bigger with age and im not digging it up again :heehee:

        Here's my E.candicans that has been planted in the main bed all winter................

        As you can see it has been rather munched, but apart from that it seems happy enough. The only protection that it has had is a mulch of Taxodium needles around its base.

          Alright Alright! So this is what I am looking forward to.. for my E. piniana next year... by the way have a couple going spare.. do you want any? you may have to give me a crash course on how to post delicate seedlings without bringing any harm..

          My echium piniana arrived this morning, are there any special requirements for sowing these seeds?

            Not really, light compost on top and bit warmth. Lots of light when germinated

              I always found them straight forward to germinate but as minki says lots of light once germinated otherwise they will get leggy quickly.

                  Im gobsmacked that mine as grew 2ft in a month and starting to flower!:yes: i thought i had a dud :heehee:
