Think it's more to do with the pressure than the actual make.

I bought one (cheaply: live and learn! :rolleyespink: ) and thought I was getting a bargain, only to realise - after a bit of research - that it is the maximum pressure the pot can take that is the deciding factor on what to cook and for how long ;) Once you know that, the make of the pressure cooker is of lesser importance.

Let us know how you get on with it though and what delights you conjure up :dbgrtmb:

Had a Prestige for donkeys years, Tower was the other good make, I use it most days
Must have been 1950s when I was introduced to it by a friend from the north it frightened me to death with all the hissing, convinced it was going to blow up I used to put it on the cooker then stand by the open kitchen door, just in case, soon got the hang of it Whew, light years away. I do use the bottom bit for making jam as its heavy and doesnt burn things, Do remember to put plenty of liquid innit, pop on the weight and when it comes to pressure turn the heat right down then it just chugs away gently
you will love it when you get the hang of it.:ideaIPB:

Anything that can make a big pot of vegetable broth (with barley, split peas etc) in seven minutes works for me
I think they are a wonderful invention and use mine once a week at least. Whole chicken, gammon joints, pork shoulder joints, curry. Loads of things.

Unfortunately, when I found the instructions, they were for a 1 litre smaller stainless steel Tower pressure cooker.
