Not heard of it. A favourite or yours, or are you trying it out?

I am getting so far behind - not a tomato, cucumber, celeriac or leek sown yet - mostly because I am running out of room; mind you, now that the temps seem to be up a bit, I am tempted to bring the greenhouse into full service.

            You are in good company!

I'm pleased to report I am on track with vegetable sowings ... its just everything else that I am behind with

Perhaps it would help me if I made a list:

            Not pruned roses
            Nor Buddleia, nor Cornus
Need to remove tip-buds from young hedges - BEFORE they come into leaf.
Not put Iron Sulphate on lawn moss
Not sown most of the expensive, precious, ornamental seeds - that should have been sown by now
Not ordered some trees that I want to plant bare-root
Some that I have ordered haven't arrived yet Phew! need to allocate time to plant them soon Blast!
Double blast - some bare root that came over a week ago are still in the garage not potted up yet

Not got a conservatory to grow everything on - still being built. Have been camping in it, thinking that would be OK until May, but now realise if I don't vacate it they can't finish building it, and I want Builders gone by Summer time.

So that's a few more jobs then:

Move all hardy plants in greenhouse outside
Move all plants from new Conservatory to greenhouse - if they will fit!

Make space in propagation greenhouse for plants currently under lights, like Onions, so that there is more space under lights for "other things".

Definitely feels so much better now I have made a list ... just need to "Make Time" now, I wonder if Jamie Olivers recipe for that is better than Heston Blumenthal's? :)

              I have a similarly long list -

              Clean & disinfect greenhouse
Pressure wash patio, driveway and front garden slabs
              Wash out large pots
Get my finger out and order some plug plants for the front (thinking begonia crackling fire for the trailing plants and maybe add height with Dahlia Figaro that I sowed yesterday?)
Decide how many of the 6 newly-acquired barrels are going to be planters, and cut them in half to make the planters
Burn the remains of the buddleia tree
              Remove the buddleia stump
              Plant summer bulbs
              Cut the grass
Give both the lavatera a haircut
Sow tomatoes, cucumbers, celeriac, leeks, foxgloves (and the other bits and bobs that I have clearly forgotten that are in my seed box )
Prick-out and pot on goodness knows how much (and have mild panic as to where it is all going to go!)
              CUT THE GRASS - AGAIN!
Errrrr - - and loads more that I obviously haven't remembered yet......

I've decided just to sow everything like normal, we might not get a house this year. You never know.

Today I sowed 12 x King Edwards and some Carrot 'Cortina' seeds. When can I start growing salad leaves? Indoors/outdoors?

If only I knew that! Could've saved a fiver too! Wilkos versus Fothergills, any difference in quality?

Never had a problem with Wilkos onion sets , they all look healthy enough :blue thumb:
If I plant sets direct outside , its usually the middle of April, so Fothergills delivery should be fine.

Blast - there are things on your list that should have been on mine!

                      I need to ORDER mine!

                      Cut the grass
Prick-out and pot on goodness knows how much

Ah! I need to plant my Potato Planters
And make a Carrot Frame - I've bought 4 bags of sand, I am going to have a go at making a slightly raised bed frame, for my raised bed :), to contain the high-proportion sand/soil mix I am going to make, and hopefully grow some excellent Sweet Candle carrots.

How big an area do I need for a sowing of Carrots? (Let's assume they will have to Stand and I am not going to make any more frames / sow any more

Cancel the remainder of your Fothergills order and get them from Wilkos?
