    Afternoon all,

I was just wondering how you organise your seed packets to keep track of everything?

I have a lot of seed packets and it seems a little overwhelming!

    Many thanks,

    Samuel

I use big cardboard boxes containing big envellopes of brassicas, beans, peas, tomatoes, etc. Then, using a monthly list they get transferred to plastic biscuit containers, one for greenhouse, one for open ground and another for polytunnel sowing for each month.

I keep an indelible marker and labels in each box (big labels in the open ground box) and the idea is to have them written out before the seeds go in as I've been called away too many times mid sowing and fogot what went in the last tray.

      Hi Sam
I use a spreadsheet as well , but here are plenty of free Planting Plans on the internet if you give it a quick Google :star: It will tell you when to plant the seeds , so you can get a bit of organisation around it.

Spreadsheet and separate boxes are the way to go for me too. I have one spreadsheet with details for everything, alphabetically arranged and sorted by the month of sowing and two cardboard boxes "sowed" and "to be sown"

My method too. I should have a box with index cards with months of sowing but still haven't got round to it yet. So am very disorganised this year since I've been hoarding seeds.

I have the eight packets of seeds I own in an envelope :D occasionally I look at it and remember I need to plant them. The varieties are written on the seed packets. Some of them have instructions on too!

Three boxes. To be sown, to be sown very soon, and sown.

In a box, in rather scruffy bundles loosely held together by rubber bands.

Each bundle has a 'theme', such as brassicas, salad stuff, cucurbits, root vegetables, flowers and so on.

Sort of works for me anyway. :rolleyespink:
