What is also nice is to wrap the fried polenta fingers in slices of cold meat of your choice and serve with a salad.
      Very yummy.

Never tried them, I like celeriac so will give that a go. :dbgrtmb:
Just googled and found celeriac is low carb, my sister is diabetic and tries to stick to a low carb diet, I am always looking for something to cook for her when she visits.

This celeriac then, is that any good for chip eaters like me who are also trying to shed some surplus flab?

Oven chips (plus loads of other frozen stuff) half price in Tescos - fill your freezers!

Lots of mainly meaty frozen stuff half price, but also pizzas, and vegetable grills. Packs of 4 chocolate and nut cones only 25p. Shame that our freezers are stuffed with free pizzas so only got a dozen packs of veggie grills and some icecreams.

Yes, that is why I don't eat potatoes or bread. I eat an extremely low carb diet. It's great for the weight and keeps my blood sugar under control.
A nice bit of fish and a few celeriac chips is yummy! Or, celeriac mash with olive oil mashed into it. Drool........ :)

When I said "chips", I meant .... I cut my celeriac into "finger" sized pieces (so, they *look* like chips), spread them out on a baking tray and roast them (no added fat). They have a delicious flavour (funnily enough, just like celery!) and I could eat them by the bucketful (although - be advised - stay up wind! Or is it "down" wind :dunno: )

Had to pick someone up from the rail station yesterday afternoon, so beforehand went to:

                              1) Tescos and bought £5.04's worth/0.66Kg of Brie reduced to half price/£2.52 and used the 65p off cheese when you spend £2.50 at the cheese counter voucher they sent me, getting it down to £2.82/Kg. Treated ourselves to a baguette.

                              2) Morrisons and used the last £5 off £40 spend voucher, buying only good value stuff we always use and what's on special offer. We actually got £5 off £20 because we included a 'Try me Free' that we'll get our money back on, £10's worth was for our elderly, infirm neighbours, plus silly Morrisons had put a more expensive item in the place of something cheaper we wanted several of, getting our spend up so they'd accept the voucher, then we complained we'd been overcharged!

                              3) Waitrose for the 'Golden Hour' and got this trolley load of stuff ( less 3 items for neighbours) + 1hr's town centre car parking all for only £3.05. Apart from the free pizzas (actually better than free as we got the full face value off, then got a further 10% off frozen food off the bill for being a myWaitrose card holder), the big savings were on reduced stuff on multi-save, which after that's deducted at full price gets the cost of reduced items down to pennies. We bit the bullet and bought an apparently expensive hardly reduced ravioli for £1.69 to get a multi-save that took £1.45 off our shop. Drank our free coffee and tea waiting for the train to arrive.

                              Waitrose£3.05.jpg

My only regret is that they didn't have any reduced Danone youghurts as we have some vouchers to get £1 off, so we'll have to make do with that Rachel's Organic stuff that cost 10p each after the multi-save came off at full price.

                                @Scrungee

All that in the trolley for £3.05?
Even at the GBP/ZAR exchange rate (aprox 18:1 :hate-shocked:) making it R55, that is an absolute bargain.
The equivalent here would easily cost 3 to 4 times as much.
I've got to hand it to you as you've got this savings thing down to a fine art.
