Woos found room for 3 Climbing Roses

Good afternoon I have just planted 3 climbing Roses,Compassion,Guinea and Waltz Time

 

Good afternoon Pam and many thanks for the information well as I was looking at some Dahlias of which I purchased 8, a climbing Rose fell of the staging on to the ground about 10 feet from me and there was no one else in the vicinity,and then the pot rolled and knocked another two Roses over,just like ten pin bowling,so I thought to myself that this was a sign that I just couldn't ignore and they wanted to come home with me

Good morning Fern my friend thank you,Fern growing Roses will give you more confidence
the TLC you mention is just to love the Rose that's all,they are the toughest and most resilient and rewarding (Shrub/Bush)you could plant it and leave and it would survive,we only, what I would call mess about with it (which I do as little as possible) to get the best out of the Rose,
What other plant for a few pounds will live for 25/30 years and more,with the hundreds of variations of colours and shapes and give you such pleasure,sorry about this Woo always gets carried away my apologies

Even with the pruning once a year ,you could do that with a chainsaw,garden shears ect,this would be the worst scenario but your Rose would survive,but secateurs would be best

Now all the Rosarian experts won't agree me me(do they ever) IMHO any Rose will grow in any large container /Pot

Fern my friend choose your lovely Rose and and let us know then we will go from there,enjoy your day

At this time of the year its just great,been to Tesco's and it took yours truly over an hour and 25 minutes for just a few items,5 minutes shopping and 1 hour and 20 minutes answering questions on Roses from all the lovely staff

Fern you can even leave your Roses when you go on holiday or you have to go out,you don't need a Rose sitterI will look and recommend some of the colours you asked for and get back to you my friend,as you know I will only respectfully suggest Roses that I have seen growing in pots/containers in real life and not from the internet

Hannah when I was at Cobham Hall many years ago I had one particular Rose Garden full of 200 "Queen Elizabeth Roses"One year we did in fact use a chainsaw as did a lot of Rose trial experiments and surprisingly the Roses didn't turn out much different from normal pruning apart from variations in shape
