Smiley's

Again I've obliterated my post here because of this lousy smilie set up! Please Daisies can we have the old system back? This is so awkward and long winded just to get a smiley on to a post!

 

I've had enough of the smiley's being in folders, i'm too tired to look for them

 

That's the norm here. Its not my Gaff, so its fair enough that TPTB do as they wish, but every time the response is "Wish you'd told us first". Same with other features that are added - like "Quote+" - you have to fall over it before you know that it is there ...

The thing that would make a huge difference to me is to put back the filter on New Posts to restrict it to user-configurable forums. I, personally, am not interested in the chatter forums. I'm here (i.e. I have selected this site) primarily to give something back on the internet in an area where I have a bit of knowledge. Of course I now have a number of friends here too but that's not my primary reason for being here.

For me this is by far the best, and thereby the most productive for me, forum software that I have ever come across. However, the more mainstream forum software packages have 3rd party add-ons for filtering forums that are not of interest, and I have used those in the past to achieve the same objective. Not seen one (although I haven't looked that hard) for Xenforo - happy to use something like that instead if one exists?

Other thing of concern to me is how few newbies are here asking questions. Lots of "How do I prick out carrots" on other forums I read, and its those sort of folk that I would like to be using my knowledge to answer. Nice as it is to talk to you lot a "private social network" is not what I am primarily looking for.
