Good afternoon my friends I have decided to purchase some standard Roses,Mrs Woos idea:ideaIPB::whistle:Not sure what or where to buy as yet but decided that like the town planners if you haven't got much room the the only way is up;) to be honest haven't looked at standards for years ,I am sure they are smaller now than they used to be,when I was a boy:old: they were all one size fits all, anyway that is my latest quest, enjoy your afternoon:smile:

I used to have the Standard rose "Sanders White" many years ago, Woo. It's a lovely small white flowering rose that was easily kept in a globe shape. Unfortunately, we had some bad weather and high winds that year and although the rose was supported we lost the globe completely when it was snapped off!!:cry3::gaah:

Thank you,i cant wait for it to flower this year again :)
I need some advise from woo about shaping it as im not sure if you just prune as it grows or do it at a certain time, its getting leaves on now :dancy:
Its also got a sprut on further down the stem which i know i need to chop off ,i think that the double delight is grafted on a top ?but could i use the sprut as a cutting at this time of year?
No idea what rose i will get if the cutting survived x

They are what you might call an "ambitious" rose, Joolz

Standard roses Woo! I haven't had those for donkey's years, but lovely plants all the same. :) I have bought roses from both the sites below and pleased with what I received, they were well packaged too. Cant's Roses are a good price if you are prepared to wait for the bare-root season. You will find there 'Standards' section listed right at the bottom of the Rose list. :)
