Does anyone purchase from Parkers Bulbs?

Can I suggest u use a local garden centre. Most have a bargains aisle. You can actually see what your getting then. Bedding is expensive if your trying to fill a garden.
You could nick my idea and buy a perennial a month and by next year if u try for some cuttings too u will need less bedding plants.

 

Can't help with bedding (although just possibly a car boot sale might), but folk here tend to have spare cuttings of this and that which might enable others to get a collection of plants together.

We've talked about a Swap system here before, but the logistics of postage etc. are difficult to solve ... I'm open to ideas on that one (as I am capable of cobbling together a website to handle the "Wants & Gots" part.

 

@Val.. , not sure of the aquarium variety , but Bacopa is a small trailing plant with white or blue ( possibly pink ? ) flowers. A great basket and container plant , it flowers through to the frosts

Harry I know Bacopa is used in aquariums but I have know idea about the difference in the ones we bought

 

Best and cheapest way of growing bedding plants is from seed yourself, we all used to do it in the days before plug plants etc.
Takes a bit of effort pricking out etc. but well worth it.

Obviously a cold greenhouse would be a big help, but you can often get by with growing on the window sill, and then moving them to a makeshift cold frame,(a few bricks and some glass), in a sunny spot outside.
Main thing to remember is, hold your fire and wait, dont sow too early.

 

Well it looks like we can't overwater them dave !

 

Probably why they were sent so wet. I don't think they flower in an aquarium.
