Another thing we're stocking up on is cheap Jus-Rol pastry as each pack has a code to enter online and 7 codes get a £5 voucher to spend in stores like Morrisons and Sainsburys, so when we see it reduced to 45p per pack we clear the reduction cabinet of all they've got (freeze it) as we get 71p per pack back, meaning we're being paid 26p/pack to take it away.

It's rumoured to be 3 packs for £1 in Heron Foods stores, but sadly they're all up North.

Mrs Scrungee only had to wait four days until the Valentine's flowers were reduced enough.

I made sure I put them in my own bag to get that Clubcard point.

Mmm I use Lidls just around the corner you cannot touch them for fresh produce, £1.35 for 5 kilo bag of dutch onions,We are two, love onions, baked./fried /soup.
Meat £2.98 for a pack of pork shoulder chops, succulent, Chickens, big ones under a £5 free range Bacon from Suffolk not full of water. Also they keep a wide range of cleaners ,Toilet, washing, etc they have upped their game in the last year, when they 1st were about, the choice was very limited but now as good as Asda/Tesco/Sainsburys, Oh Cheese is another goodie in their Deluxe range as well as French duck breasts frozen, out of this world. I now have to get down there early as people come from far and wide in their big 4x4s to stock up. Aldi are good for west country butter but parking is limited,24 hour Tesco also down the road good for petrol, But I do the farmers market once a fortnight 3 miles away in Wimborne for sack of taters,£5. A tray of small eggs £2 really fresh mushrooms not cling filmed packed and sweaty, Tomatos by the lb, Yes we are exremly lucky where we live in Poole and as 2 very old oaps we have to watch prices.

Whole leg of New Zealand Lamb, vac packed, not frozen, from ASDA this afternoon = NOT £6.50 per kg, but £4.00 per kg. Came home and did a pot roast - bloomin luvvly and so tender. Plenty left for a couple of Curries,
          Jenny

Frozen turkeys, up to half price in Sainsburys now - I bought two small birds for £10 each tonight, which will see us a good three or four dinners out of each one at least. :)

I like New Zealand lamb, any lamb for that matter, they insist on Welsh lamb , here in Wales, sorry the difference is to small to me, always wanted to try salt marsh lamb though.

I had some and i don't think there was much difference to normal, but then found out that the lambs only went out for a week or two then they could call it salt marsh lamb, so now i get sea salt and rub into the leg and leave over night then cook :dbgrtmb:

Sainsburys are in the process of putting up the price by 50% by reducing the size of the pack without a corresponding decrease in price. Stock up if old stock is still available. It's supposed to be Sainsburys reaction to Moneysavingexpert blowing the secret of these in one of their emails.

I was after some salmon side and as I normally find it cheapest to buy whole salmon when on special offer and fillet it myself I've been looking out for special offers such as

                    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/whole-salmon-5-00-kg-asda-1881012?page=2#comments
                    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/whole-salmon-6-50-per-kilo-tesco-1878543

Then I saw Morrisons whole salmon reduced to £5.48/Kg, but even better was that they were selling it at that price with the heads and fins removed (and weighed after removal) , so only the backbone to remove. 5 minutes work with a filleting knife and I had 1.7Kg of salmon side @ £6/Kg.

If I'd bought a whole salmon @ £5/Kg from Asda and filleted it, the head, backbone and fins are 30% of a whole salmon's weight and it would have worked out at £7.14/Kg filleted plus taken longer to fillet.

(I did all that in my head during the 30 seconds it took me to decide to buy it)

                    salmon1.jpg

P.S. The backbone with adhering flesh has been microwaved and the flesh removed and used as a tasty Easter treat for the hens to make a sandwich.

                      Got 4, 1 like that (in a block), 1 similar in a sheath + 2 folding/locking ones I use whilst out fishing.

For Easter/my birthday lunch had some of that Salmon with free Higgardly Pies (actually better than free because those Facebook vouchers give you more back than you spend), plus a load of stuff from Waitrose on Saturday afternoon, specialist salads, etc. so the three of us had a really good meal n@ <£1 each that would ordinarily have cost >£7 each (even had a bottle of sparkling Shoel grape reduced from £2.99 to 75p). Still got loads of virtually free reduced Waitrose stuff with full price multi-saves in our freezers.

Today got a mass of stuff from Morrisons. The Savoy cabbages @ 19p each will be for greenstuff for our hens when we go on holiday. The only full price item we bought was a packet of Shreddies for £1.15, but we had a £1 off Shreddies voucher

Went to Waitrose today and got loads of stuff for virtually nothing, in fact less than nothing because the really funny thing was that one of the herb plants they previously paid us 1p to take away died, and they gave us £1.98 compensation!

That £1.98 compo more than covered what we spent, so we got all this shopping for free (in fact paid to take it away)
