Not good Silu, I hope you heal soon and get the resolution you deserve. Just make sure you clean the cut meticulously, and I wouldn't rule out a trip to your practice nurse to be extra safe.
I bought 3 x 60L of compost from Asda and it's absolute c**p, it looks like wood shavings that have been dyed brown. At least I haven't discovered any hidden dangers though.
Bought this at weekend. Not cheap but very good I think, http://www.wickes.co.uk/westland-multi-purpose-compost-50l/invt/222110/ Jenny
I picked up a bag of Asda's compost last week and it is poor compared to last year, such a shame, however Wickes compost has been transformed and is a LOT better but not quite as good as it was a few years ago, but I will be using it for 'bulking' out larger pots
I usually buy compost from named companies who make the stuff. Not a guarantee that it will be good, I know, but if you buy from the DIY stores etc. their own brand, its bound to be the lowest standard stuff around, as they dictate the price to their suppliers.
I'm mainly using Clover MPC this year and its fantastic, also looked at Humax which looks excellent also
http://www.william-sinclair.co.uk/gardening/products/compost Seems to only show Arthur Bowers and New Horizon, but I suspect they do Own Brand stuff too.
P.S. Lots of variety in their Commercial products. I've toyed with buying them, but they are a lot more expensive than the 3-for-2 etc. offers for J.A.B. at my local garden centre. Commercial growers obviously think that they are worthwhile though?? http://www.william-sinclair.co.uk/commercial/growing_media
