Fancy dress.

Going to a do and cannot decide what outfit to choose. It will be indoors and evening. Apart from "fancy dress" on the invite there are no instructions.
Any ideas? What have you gone as in the past?

 

Well,that would be telling, but one was we had to dress up in the other sex clothes so i got some lady of the nights sort of clothes, and what a site it was (before you ask no pic's)

Another one i went to, i just put on some tidy clothes on and went like that, they ask who i was ment to be, i said, "Me"

 

I went as "Aladdin Sane"



But only because I wanted to wear a Leotard

 

Next you will be telling us that you also like wearing a mankini like Borat.

 

That depends. Where it is, location, who are the people inviting you. Do you need to make your presence known when there, (such as job promotion, marketing). Where do you rank in the group, an Aunt, beloved sister to the host? What do you feel like pulling off. Are they snoody, or laid back folks. Me I like combining good pieces for later to wear with other things. Quality pieces stand alone well. Just a dress, is only a dress. Unless you go with the simple black and it fits well, then you can add or substract etc. And with a simple black you can throw on a silk crep scarf and be vibrant.

 

Confused folk at the mrs's work do once, it was 60's themed so I turned up in an Afghan coat, with a long wig & headband.

When they finished the 6o's music & put Iggy Pop on, I ripped it all off to reveal a Mohecan wearing a Punk T Shirt & pvc jeans. Got straight on the dance floor

 

I can remember my dad dressing as a tramp (vagrant) for a party many years ago. Simple and not expensive.

 

I have never been to a fancy dress party. How about Lady Godiva!!!

Went as a squaddie many moons ago,Kate Bush,Sharon Osbourne,Venus,Flapper,Cave woman,Bunny Girl.. the list is endless...you'll have a good time Lea what ever you choose

 

Many years ago I went into to a fancy dress party wearing a police uniform, truncheon in my hand, mini-tape recorder in my jacket pocket blaring out police radio messages, and before I'd got as far as the kitchen nearly half the people there had climbed out of the pantry window!

 

This is REALLY funny!!!!!

I used to live next door to the nick, when the cars stopped at the end of my road and keyed the police radio, it used to come out over my stereo speakers, scared the hell out of a few of my mates

 

How about Lady Gaga?
