@ARMANDII is it Clematis Alpina Constance? I only ask as it looks very like one I've been looking to buy. :)

Hi Shiney and Fern, now we've got a[IMG] better picture of the Clematis it does have the characteristics of an Apline Clematis, one of which is to hang the head and, with the fingers in the pic for scale, it's definitely smaller and has the characteristics of Clematis "Constance" rather than my first hasty gut feeling.:snork: The only worry for me when i'd.ing plants is colour in that the colour of the flower is not always reproduced correctly on the Computer Screen. But having got the scale of the flower from the fingers in the pic and that's it's heads hang then I'm fairly sure it is Clematis "Constance".

My point about i.d.ing and the difference in colours in images for the same plant.

If you remember, longk, I was moaning because my Fritillaria imperialis hadn't flowered as soon as your's had:biggrin::dunno::cry3::heehee: But, I'd forgotten that I've got several clumps around the garden and had only bothered to look at the ones in full view, forgetting that the original one that I planted over 20 years ago is hidden behind the Lilac. The Lilac wasn't so big in those days and it seemed a good place for the Fritiallaria at the time!! Anyway, I remembered it when drinking a mug of tea and went to check on it.

The strange thing is that the other clumps were planted about 7 years ago but they always seem to be behind the one planted over 20 years ago. I would have thought that by now they would be established and flowering at the same time:dunno::doh::snork:
