Arisaema sikokianum - very strange.

 

Put quite simply - stunning!

 

The Arisaema sikokianum is a new acquisition that I picked up in February and potted up in the greenhouse while waiting for better conditions outside. I have a number of other Arisaema species. I find the varied flower structures very interesting.

 

To me, A. sikokianum is the only one with a beautiful flower, but I love the stems on many of the others, and as you say Nigel - they are so interesting.

 

I`ve been so busy that start to miss al the flower in the greenhouse

 

Cool and shady, likes summer outside under the apple trees.

 

Yellow Brugmansia - nice to see the coloured ones start to flower.


Asphodelius alba. Grown from seed 7 years ago - its only just flowered for the first time.

pink Mandevilla - but I must own up, this was a recent purchase. So I suspect that this is not the normal flowering time.

 

I put one of my Kalanchoe x houghtonii outdoors in a sheltered spot a few weeks ago. It spent the winter in the unheated greenhouse and was loaded with flower buds. First bloom is open and the colour is better than the pampered ones in my opinion.................




My "Old faithful", Salvia discolor is in full bloom....................


It should continue to perform like this deep into autumn.

 

LongK - that's amazing that Salvia discolor is in bloom now. Although many Salvias are long flowering, they usually don't start for a while yet.
