What size pot for hosta 'big daddy' ??

    Just as the heading says, what size pot would be 'ample' and also allow room for growth? :)

    what size pot is it in at the moment, I grow Sum and substance now that gets huge but takes a couple of years to get to those dizzy heights

    @Spruce Do slugs and snails really leave Sum & substance alone? Big Daddy will be in a 2 litre pot as I haven't got it yet!!

    Hi Val

    On the young plants 1st two years yes the slugs would have a go , but since the 3rd year very little damage and on the huge leaves that are quite tough no they dont, its impressive when in full leaf I will show you a photo later in the year.

      I should of said I use a garlic spray the slugs and snails hate it , so easy to make @Lolimac knows the recipe

      I plant mine in John innes no 3 and a couple of handfuls of multi purpose compost stops it going clagy and help it root better , 2ltr pot go for a s big as you can you can , but as I said earlier takes a couple of years before the plant produces the big leaves .
