Think this is a Worcester Pearmain Orchard - complete with mole hills.. He brought the harem down into the orchard and a little Dovecote a lovely way to spend an afternoon, Jenny
It does look a lovely place to spend an afternoon Jenny. Worcester Pearmain's are my favourite apples but sadly I haven't seen any for years, let alone eat one!
The piglets are now in with their elders and betters. Lots of scalding and "correcting" being carried out by the seniors: Dad, with some off his offspring today, Dad's grumpy floozie they are all getting quite chunky now but still love to see you and tell you what's going on up to their hocks in it !! Jenny
Update on the Kune family. When we called in Saturday, Dad and one of the piglets were not around. Apparently, only one of the litter was male and he and his dad were starting to recognise trouble / competition, in the very near future. So, Dad and his son have gone off to join another group of Kunies , leaving his grumpy Floozie to take "care" of the gals. By no stretch of the imagination could you regard it as "care" - she knocks them sideways if they come anywhere near her when she is being stroked or offered a nettle plant. They are squealing very loudly now and I think she finds it particularly wearing and looks grumpier than ever. I can understand why, Jenny
do you blame her? the ol' fella does a runner & she's left to look after all his childer...i don't think "grumpy" would be the word i would use if i were in her shoes or should i say trotters
Here are the 6 gals today. Look at their hairdo's ..... The big old Floozie had to be put to sleep as she got teat cancer bless her. But these are an amiable bunch and were in full voice this morning: Jenny
I love pigs. They're like humans, gentle and savage at the same time. Still like 'em though: not sure about humans. :(
