    The above pictures make mine below look boring. Lovely shots everyone! :dbgrtmb:

    .......and a youngster on the wing. He looks like he has a leg missing but he'd been scratching his head in flight with the one you can see and I wasn't quick enough to catch it. :doh:

        A fat bumble bee - she likes kale flowers but the flower stalk is not stiff enough for its weight resulting in a lot of movement, so I failed to take any decent picture:wallbanging:.

          Your pictures are always so fascinating and full of interest HsuH. The pollen bags on the Pear Blossom bees are massive!! How can they fly lugging that lot around?

                    While standing in the middle of nowhere up near the mountain today talking to some friends I heard a familiar sound, but one I haven't heard for over twenty years! A Skylark! :) I didn't think there were any here on the island.

                        @strongylodon

                        I have to make a decision about my camera 'set up' and am gathering info on which way to go, camera, lenses etc. I'd like to expand my wildlife photography but have issues with my present equipment. With you being our 'bird man' here on GC can I ask what lens/lenses you use for bird photography please. Not wanting to take the edge off this forum I have a thread running in 'Photography Discussion' that may be a better place to answer. Thanks.

                              Sheal, mine is a Panasonic FZ150 'bridge' camera in between a point and shoot and a DSLR with a fixed lens.
                              It has a 24x zoom which can be altered to go up to 50x (not digital zoom)which I use It has it's limitations such as a slowish shutter speed and sometimes lack of detail. Some of my pcs are cropped on camera but I never use editing software so they are not the best of quality but it is ok for me.
                              I find it too time consuming and bulky now carrying and changing lenses.
